They are ad free unless you are french -lol-

They put ads on forums that are set to "French" language and that is how they get all their income so if you are are from england or the US you will have an ad-free forum paid for by the french. -D-

They also have phpBB3 -😉-

suprise suprise, the entire of the freeforums.org network is offline, there's no access to their homepage, their support forum or any of the forums they host.

Same with their UnrealBlogs platform. It may be that they're doing some spectacular upgrade, although i highly doubt it.

Division posted somewhere about a phpBB3 update coming, but it looks like that was just another promise broken.

phpBB 2.0.23 was only released yesterday!... Upgrading with a phpBB2 is alot harder then with phpBB3 if you have mods installed as they don't have the automatic updater that phpBB3 has -😉-

The ads aren't very intrusive, and it makes it better that you can switch between Kontera or Google. The crawlers are a little... odd.. since my site's gaming/freeware so we occasionally get graphics card or PSP ads, but today we had a Japanese dating site ad. Creepy, since both me and the other admin is American and everyone else is either american or British. -roll-

Ah well, good thing I left them yonks ago.
I used to have a forum called 'Nintendo Matrixia' which was hosted by freeforum, I gave it up quickly after finding Invisionfree then I moved onto IPBFree.
Now since FreeForum.org is no longer ad-free, my chances of returning to it just reduced to a very low level.
