Frequent visitor program for forums

Airlines have a frequent flyer program for repeat customer, so why not have a frequent poster program for your members? This could be a fun way to encourage members to visit every day or at least a few times a week. Can you think of ways you might implement this idea on your forum?

Honestly, I never thought of an idea like this. I would probably put them in a special group called "frequent posters" and they'd just have more abilities in the forums, like most forums having VIP groups. Most forums already somewhat award people with tons of posts, but I have not seen forums that have really awarded frequent posters.

This is a really cool idea, actually! I think I would definitely do something like this but I would put more features than a special board. It would definitely take a lot of brainstorming.

A private section could be interesting, or if you can get your members in love with forum awards and prizes (virtual prizes that don't cost money) then you could offer some up for frequent activity.

If you use a Points system that users enjoy then maybe add an increased % rate for users who have been around for a bit so that they gain more points per post than newer members.

This is an interesting concept, but I think you would need to have a large forum for this to work successfully. I am not sure what perks this would offer over a Premium group as well.

It's an interesting idea, but I can't really differ between this and the widespread forum points/currency system. I guess if you can come up with benefits that's distinct from the existing points system and premium/VIP system, it might attract some loyal members.

Although it would possibly take alot of work to implement if you wanted to do it through automation processes.

you should have the major competitions to stimulate people to increase traffic and your forum

I have groups for members that have reached x amount of posts. But maybe members who get x amount of posts a week could get special things such as custom avatars/signatures. Discounts on my forums store and such.

It's definitely a good idea though!

I'd probably setup a program to allow them to get free VIP (upon conditions of 35 quality posts a week) which gave them access to hidden forum sections, more PM space, lower rate limits, etc. I would probably find additional benefits to add as well.
