First Impressions & Appearance - (Out of 20)

I love IP.Board, just to let you know. It’s definitely my favorite and I love the look and functionality of it. However, I’m not a huge fan of your skin. It just looks…old. I don’t know how to describe it. It looks sort of monotone, and it looks like something that could be made for IPB 1.3, not 2.3. It also doesn’t look very chatty, it’s darker than what you’d expect for a general chat forum. It’s OK though, you offer quite a few skins. Just to let you know, from the skinning section of your ACP, you can get rid of that little (Import) text that appears next to your skins on the dropdown. I really like those smileys on your forum descriptions. It gives your forum a more laid back and inviting feel to it. I also like the fact you have a favicon. Those are always helpful.

Site Layout - (Out of 20)

I like the fact your skin is fluid. That really helps people like me with larger monitors. I, however, think your shoutbox should be hidden by default for guests and new members. You should have to manually turn it on, not manually turn it off. I know a lot of people (including me) don’t like seeing those, and people use a lot of smileys and stuff in yours, so it makes it large and flashy. It’s not attractive for new members. I also don’t like how even though a lot of your posts are just one line long, the posts themselves are huge. It’s a lot of wasted space. On the other end of the spectrum, I love your forums themselves. You did a great job on designing out your layout, and while you have quite a few forums, they all seem active.

Statistics and Activity - (Out of 20)

For being open roughly half a year or so, 10,000 posts is very nice. Same with your member count. (Almost to 100!) I also really like a certain element about your forum – and that’s your members’ kindness. Just take a second and look at intro topics. All your members are very welcoming and kind to anyone new, and they’re like that with most posts. That’s something I’m sure many forums envy, and I’m sure it’s something that will draw new members in.

Staff Moderation - (Out of 20)

It seems you have 3 admins/global mods as your staff. That’s a perfect amount for a forum your size. I wouldn’t hire any more staff though. I think you’re fine as it is, you don’t want to overstaff. They all seem very active (all within the last day), and all have over 1,000 posts. All your staff seem glad to help people. The only thing is they don’t exactly win in the spelling department. I saw incomplete words, bad grammar, (incorrect punctuation, etc.) and stuff like that. I think that’s the main thing you all need to work on as a staff team.

Spelling/Grammar & Professionalism - (Out of 20)

Here are the things I noticed:
“New to Daily Chatter? Introduce yourself and start making new friends!” should be, “New to Daily Chatter? Introduce yourself, and start making new friends!”
“If you have any problems relating to the forum, suggestions or feedback in general then post it here.” should be, “If you have any problems relating to the forum, suggestions, or feedback in general, then post it here.”
“For the latest Celebrity Gossip and world news.” should be, “For the latest celebrity gossip and world news.”
That’s basically it. There were a few other minor ones, but I think you can catch them. Overall not bad.
