First Impressions & Appearance – (15 out of 20)
There were just a couple of things to that were touchy with me as far as the first impression and appearance. First off, I noticed that there were several places on the main page saying you can join here or sign up here. I really think it would be easier having one place on the main page where you can sign up and it would just simplify things a whole lot. Also, it kind of annoys me when there are multiple places to sign up at. It's kind of like when you go to the car dealership and the salesman attaches themselves to you the minute you set foot on the lot. I know it is the salesman's job to sell you a vehicle but I don't like being pressured into buying a vehicle and that's what I feel like here. I feel like too many places asking you to join or sign up is just a little annoying because it feels like I'm being pressured into it. I like to look around first and see what the site has to offer before I make my decision to join or not. I do like the 'hosting packages' that are on display and that's something I like to see. Give me more information for me to base my decision on before asking me to join or sign up. Secondly, I am trying to figure out why the background starts off blue at the top, then it changes to white when you get to the middle and then it changes once more to a charcoal color when you get to the bottom. Most sites have a background that is a little more uniform than that. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you should be like everyone else. I just think it would look better if the background was a little more uniform. To be honest, I find it a little bit distracting when the background is changing colors as I continue to scroll down through the page.
Site Layout – (11 out of 20)
As far as the layout goes when you first look at the main page, it's okay. The navigation bar at the top of the site that provides a drop down menu for each category helps out a lot, otherwise, I think I would be totally lost without it. Also, I think your main page could be a bit more informative and descriptive about the products/services you offer.
Statistics and Activity – (4 out of 20)
When you are directed to the forum from the main page, you get a little bit disappointed. The forum section of the site is practically a ghost town. In your review request, you listed the site opening date as May of 2014. I don't know when the forum section of your site opened or if it opened in May along with the main portion of the site, however, if the forum section opened in May with the rest of the site then the statistics go from a little disappointing to a lot. That doesn't look good to be open for 5 months (at least) and you only have 4 members on your forum. It really doesn't look good when 2 of the 4 members are banned, which really only leaves you with 1 staff and 1 member. That will easily deter any guest that takes a good look at your site. If nothing else, have a few friends sign up and make a few posts to give it some life or request a package. I know the forum probably isn't the main focus of the site but the statistics and activity from the forum doesn't do the rest of the site any justice.
Content – (16 out of 20)
Your site has a lot of things to offer. Some people tend to think that quantity over quality when in fact the opposite it true. I'd rather have a little bit of good content that a whole bunch of content that is bad. So if it was me, I would show off your testimonials a little more to help get guests who visit your site interested in your products/services. If they see a lot of happy customers then that is a sure way of winning over more potential customers.
Spelling/Grammar & Professionalism – (11 out of 20)
I am unable to find any spelling or grammar mistakes. If there were any then it wasn't noticeable (obviously) and wasn't enough to hinder to site at least. However, there doesn't really seem to be a staff presence at your site. I know there is a "contact" area at the bottom of the main page but I don't know who I'm going to talk to when I e-mail or call the number at the bottom of the page. To me, it doesn't look good if you have to go looking for help from a staff member.
Total Score - (57 out of 100)
Final Remarks:
I think the main thing to work on is statistics and activity, otherwise, I think you have a quality site with Volact with just a few minor changes needed to improve. Don't get bummed and give up on Volact. The more you work, the more it will show on your site.
