You will find we only have 119 members but over 40% of them are active at any given time (not all at once). We are a monatized board, the ads you see are from firms that pay us to be there. We also have pay per click hover text ads. Just wanted to let you know this so you understand that as small as we look we are earning revenue and do not mind the fact we do not have 100s or 1000s of members. That comes in due time. First Impressions & Appearance

I think that overall, your theme is okay. I dislike the way that the header is separated so much from the forum list. It would be better if there was less space between the two things. Your theme has a decent colour choice, though, and the banner looks okay. The banner doesn't really match the theme well. It looks sort of bad because of all the blue around it. It would be better if the banner didn't have any blue space. Also, I dislike the banner being all the way over to the right. Overall, your theme isn't the best, but it's okay.

From an activity standpoint, your forum looks pretty good. You have a good amount of posts and members at a glance, and you don't have any forums that are "actually" empty.

Overall, your forum looks pretty good at first glance.

Site Layout

Your index is really long. I think that you simply need to decrease the amount of music generes on which you want to focus. You definitely need to get rid of the forums in your off-topic category that don't get much use (e.g. Battle of the Bands, Featured Artist/Band, Home Theater), and you need to make sure that your music category retains the highest amount of forums (to make sure your layout places the focus on music). If possible, you should try to find a way to set up your music forums without creating a forum for each and every genre. In fact, you could turn your current "Genre" category into a "Genre" sub-forum. Then, you could set up other forums in a new "Music" category. You could have a forum for music news, for example. You could also move your "Music Exchange" forum to the new music category.

In fewer words, you need to decrease the amount of forums on your index.

Also, for a miscellaneous suggestion, I'd recommend removing the "Rules and Other Site Information" forum and replacing it with an announcement forum.

Statistics and Activity

ACcording to my calculations, your forum has twenty posts per day and fifty posts per member. These statistics aren't the worst, but there is a lot of room for improvement. Be sure that you are advertising your forum in every way you know how. Use other music forums to promote your board. Post on them with your site in your signature. You can also find tips on FP to optimize your forum's search engine performance, and there are tips to promote your forum as well.

Staff Moderation

Your forum has two administrators and seven moderators. Your forum is way overstaffed. On top of that, a couple of them are inactive. You need to encourage your staff members who are currently inactive to post more. If they don't do that, then it may be time to let them go. Also, since you have nine staff members, there should be at LEAST nine replies to every single introduction topic. Many of them fall short of that. Your staff is way too large, and a few of them have activity issues.

Spelling/Grammar & Professionalism

Few of your forums have descriptions, and the ones that do have every single word capitalized. Every forum should have a description that is at least one or two meaty sentences. Make sure that your descriptions thoroughly describe your forums, and make sure that they leave a good impression with prospective members. You don't want people to think that you haven't put a lot of effort into your forum.
