Americans find the word telly funny (television). What are some more? Do British find certain American only words cute?

I know plenty of people around here that use variations of different words, even "telly" for television. The one thing I find funny for the British (not sure about the U.S. East Coast though), is the word arse. I know Americans used to say it quite a bit in most of the U.S. Major Cities, but the use of it dwindled as rural people moved into the city.

I always thought that was just some substitute for people who don't cuss.
