Appearance
My first thoughts when I got to your page is that it is a little lost. Let me explain. At first, where I expected to see a logo, I saw a flashy advertisement. I fully understand the need for advertisements, but if they impede your look of your layout, I am against it. To me, placing the logo in that area will make for a nicer and better flowing layout. The hover over effect on the navigation bar is really nice and matches the theme really well. Moving down the page, I see some kind of jQuery slider with different images in them. Now, I love this idea, but there are a few things that can be changed to clean this area up. Some of the images are full size and thus the description box covers some of it, and there are others where the image is smaller and thus the description box is hanging out of it. Nothing large, but it would be nicer to have consistency. Continuing down the page, We see different stores as they have been written up. I like how you have been managing to organize them by way of headers. However, one thing that I really don't like is the column down the center. To me, that looks like it shouldn't be there and again at the bottom of the column, there is an advertisement. I like how you have the Facebook module on the sidebar, kind of puts yourself out here and allows users to connect with you. I feel that the sidebar overall is a really nice touch of not only connecting the content to the main page and others, but also shows off the latest content in a way that makes it easier to spot. Other than that, I really can't find anything else wrong with the appearance.
Layout
As said above, I like how you organized everything using headers and the blue font. It is easy on the eyes and is still there to separate the content into manageable parts for the reader. However, the one drawback that I have to point out is the appearance of the ads on the pages. To me, it looks odd looking at articles on the index and bumping into an ad. One thing that I must point out is the actual layout of the board, it all looks crammed. The "What's Going On" section is the biggest draw to me. Everything looks crowded like you are trying to fit everything on the pages. Like I said, I like how you laid things out, content wise, but it is done in a way that makes for a crowded appearence. If you cleaned that up a bit, you would a professional pages. A thing that I do like is the floating navigation bar that follows you down the page, to me that makes it easier to jump pages rather than going all the way to the top to find the page.The area near the footer is a nice touch because it shows the main headers that are above it, but it also shows articles that are also under that topic, makes for easy reading.
Statistics and Activity
This is where I have noticed some things that are a little odd. Some of the content blocks such as "Whats going on" and "Lifestyle" have been updated within just a day.However, you have content on
there that are over 50 days old, and to me, that shows that the content isn't being updated as much as it needs to be. This is coming from me as a guest, not someone reviewing the site. Another thing that I found was the lack of comments on most of your articles, and if you do, they are all from the same person. This shows that you really don't have a following, or if you do, not the degree of traffic that is enjoying your content enough to comment. To reverse this, try adding questions to the end of your articles to hopefully spark some conversations. Too, try sending newsletters periodically to remind the users. Without seeing more stats, that is all I have to go by.
Content
The content is nice because you offer a wide selection of readings for the readers to look through. I like that you have some of the common sections and then you venture off. The content is interesting to read and some of the articles, I haven't really heard much of, but they were nice to read. Keep the content coming!
Organisation and SEO
Your SEO seem to be good too. With a page rank of 2, you are on the right track and having a PR of 2 is good for the age of your site. Something that is questionable is the amount of back links coming in. According to Alexa, you currently have 57 links coming back to you. While this is a start, what isn't good to see is the links that are actually coming back. Something that you want to see is the relevancy of the links coming in, and in your case, this isn't good. The links that you have linking isn't really standing behind your niche. Try finding sites that are more like yours and share your links with them. Join more blogs like yours and leave your link in your signature. Just be carefull and remember to follow all guidelines about this per site.
