Future of the Graphics Service

Hello all.

Following a few discussions with my colleagues, it saddens me to say we are closing the official ForumPromotion Graphics Service permanently.

Graphics aren't like Packages or Reviews, they require a specialised Staff trained in the art of Graphic Design to complete the job. When you have a board the size of ForumPromotion whereby at least 2 or 3 new graphic requests come in each day it's fair to say it puts a fair amount of strain on our Graphics Team members - especially when you consider they have personal lives to fulfil as well.

To be honest, hunting down skilled Graphics Staff that comply with out recruitment guidelines hasn't been a walk in the park and in the past we've failed to hold onto the ones that have joined the team.

So what's next?

Well firstly, the Graphics Request subforum has been closed meaning that as of this moment the team are no longer taking graphic requests. Within the next 24 hours the Graphics Team and Team Leader will be relieved of their duties and will return to life outside of the ForumPromotion staff.

Additionally, a new forum will be created in the Off-Topic area allowing members to request graphics from one another in exchange for FP Cash, Reputation or anything else you can offer each other. We will still offer the Show-Off and Tutorials sub-forums to use at your disposal.

If you currently have a graphic request open, please be aware there is a good chance it will not be completed by an official team member, and you may need to re-post your request once the new graphics forum is available.

I'd like to take this chance to thank the current graphics team, the former graphics team members and Van1lla for their efforts served on the graphics team. Without you, we know that we couldn't have lasted this long - your efforts are deeply appreciated.

We know that there were some dedicated fans of our Graphics forum and we're deeply sorry to those who relied on us to make their graphics.

Well I never got a chance to use it, but I believe it must be for the best. The graphics team members can now just be part of the unofficial graphic forum in the off topic forum -😉-

Thanks to all graphic designers and members who took the time and effort to complete graphics requests and propose their graphics.

We could of added more graphic designers, but it just best to have the graphics section removed.

There's going to be a graphics area, and these team members I am sure will be pleased to do graphics still, I mean if they didn't want to they wouldn't be on the team.

I see why you closed it. FA closed its graphics service a long time ago. Personally I dont see the point in making graphics for people on a PROMOTION forum. It has nothing to do with people advertising their forums/websites. People should go to an actual graphics forum, they would most likely get better results from those type of forums anyways.

It's a shame to see the service go however I do think the time to close the service was right and the replacements are adequate.

It is a shame to see it go, I'd like to say a big thanks to van1lla who did a brilliant job as Graphics TL for many months, FP won't be the same without you, thats for sure. Also thank you to all the other Graphics staff that sacrificed a lot of their time doing graphics requests 🙂

I think the replacement idea is good, and i know myself and a few other staff members will be completing requests in the new request section when possible, so some graphics requests (hopefully all) will still be getting done.

I have to say theezy i completely disagree with you on this one, a lot of the services we provide here don't help with promoting a forum directly, but they are very helpful to admins, they are here to help an admin make his forum better, they are popular and people use them so i never seen a problem with having a graphics service here, it helped people improve their forum and made it more desirable so more people join them, which in my opinion is mostly what FP is all about.

It is a shame but it had to be done. To someone who said we could have hired more designers its not that easy when there is no applications coming in. And that usually means the people who do help dont want to be part of an official team. To Mike..many months? I think we counting a year and months there -lol-.

I would like to thank everyone who was ever a part of the team, you made what is was and was a good run with you all. Thanks you the support the members have given as well.

Many people Like KIK helped the graphics team and i think this was a bad decision why not ask people to become part of the graphics team rather them sending you a pm. People might say i dont want to. Ask them for their previous work. I could join the graphics team but i'm not too good.
