Site Name: Game-Not
Site URL: http://game-not.com/
Description: Game-not.com is a forum about video games. ๐Ÿ˜ณ Now I know what you're thinking:

Yes, I know, I know, but hear me out...

Game-not.com was designed for people who create content based around video games. If you are an artist, a video game reviewer, a parody developer, or like to make video game walkthroughs, this would be a place to post your material so that other people can see it. It's also a great way to collaborate with other content creators, and promote each-others work. ๐Ÿ™‚

Game-not.com is not just about content promotion. First and foremost, this is a video game forum, so if you want to just hang out and talk about video games n' stuff, you're more than welcomed to do so. :great:

I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have for the site. I'm always looking for ways to make it better. ๐Ÿ˜€

I actually like the way the site looks, but I think you should have tried to make the forum look a little more active, right now it just looks like spam in your forum.

I hear you. I started advertising this forum fresh off of a re-install of the forum software, costing me most of the posts, and pretty much all of it's members. This place hasn't been the same since.

Made a few tweaks to the layout of the website.

I added a tutorial on using the Game Critic's Paradise section for advertising original content, for anyone who is interested...

need afiliate?
Sure! Are you talking about that thing I mentioned in the forum rules? either way, I'm interested.

For those of you who are wondering about the "Affiliates Program" mentioned in the rules of the forum, that's just something I forgot to elaborate on. ๐Ÿ˜ณ You become a game-not.com affiliate by requesting to put your ad banner at the top of the website. It's free, and It gets added to a space near the middle-top of the page, and is displayed at random with other banners.

Banners can't be larger than 728 by 90, and no smaller than 364 by 60. ๐Ÿ˜•

As soon as I can work out the glitches in this site, there will be some more options where you can request to put banners.

This site has been undergoing a lot of changes lately... ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  • Changed the layout of the site (Again)
  • Added more categories to the Game Talk section
  • More topics and posts, as usual
  • Fixed a few issues regarding the theme I was using (Some threads were elongated to about twice the size of the forum for no reason, so I fixed that,)
  • Newest member: ssWosseLedy
About the affiliates advertising thing I mentioned before:

My advertisement bar was refusing to cycle through the Affiliate's banners, so I decided to abandon it altogether. The new size requirement for anyone who wants to put a banner on the site is 468 by 60. It's free, and anyone with a banner that size should request it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Game-not.com is taking part in a protest of two bills being proposed to the United States Congress which could destroy the future of gaming web sites, as well as the internet as a whole.

I'm not sure if you've heard about this yet, but there are two landmark bills that are being presented in congress, regarding the first step towards Internet Censorship in the United States. These bills, if passed, would criminalize usage of copyrighted materials on the web by users who do not own it's intellectual property rights, including photos, clips of movies, video-games, and even music. (this also includes potential jail time for the same offenses, if the infringed property was $2,500 or more to license.)These bills will also mandate that all websites incidentally hosting these materials on the web (Including user generated content,) to be forced to censor every comment, every link, every photo, and every small video clip a copyright holder might claim to be infringing, no matter how small the complaint is, or have their websites taken down. If the server hosting the website is overseas, their domain names can and will be blocked within the United States at the discretion of the copyright holder, all without due process of law. These bills are known as SOPA (Stop online privacy Act,) and Protect IP. (Protect Intellectual Property Act.) You can read more about it here:

http://americancensorship.org/

Make no mistake about it; these bills have a very real chance of being enacted into law. Nintendo, Sony, and Electronic Arts have all shown their support for these bills.

http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/18/ninte ... ship-bill/

The resistance to these bills need your support. If you are a U.S. citizen, contact your congressman/woman and tell him/her to vote NO! (If you aren't a U.S. citizen, you can just contact ANY U.S. congressperson and tell him why this is a horrible Idea.) Game reviewers and movie critic's like Angry Video Game Nerd and Nostalgia Critic could suddenly become criminals, and thrown into prison if these laws are passed. ๐Ÿ˜ก

Do not be part of the generation that sat quietly as this fascist garbage takes over the planet! Please spread the word!

You may want to work on making some posts on the forum yourself, as having more than 32 topics to have discussions in may bring people in. Even if 90% of the topics are started by you, it's still nice for a new member to see that there are discussions for them to respond to and get involved. And obviously try to make them in the gaming areas so that you're setting the precedent that most of the posts need to be related to your core topic.

One more thing I noticed was that the layout of the forums is a little bit strange, relative to most. It seems logical to most people that the core topic (gaming, in your case) is placed above the "Other" set of forums. Then the site-related forums can pretty much go at the top or the bottom of the order.

I do like the comic and "mascot" that you have, as that's definitely unique and caught my attention right away. That's the type of thing you should continue to add, as it's different than what guests are used to seeing.

You have a nice start, definitely listen to what Carson said though.

Good luck!

I added a lot of news and new topics to the "Game Talk" section.

Would love it if you guys came and joined this nice little website. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
