After 3 months of custom development, I have now launched the insanely unique game shop on our gaming community!

Basically the shop allows our users to get free steam games by earning points we call "Rebellions". You earn these points by participating in the community in various ways. You then use these points to get yourself some amazing games from steam!

You can see some screenshots below:

The top portion is inspired by the GMG site. The rest of the games from the bottom is an edited design of the previous version of our shop.

The shop is 100% automatic. Once you purchase your game, you receive your game instantly in your account.

With the release of the new gift system, that allows you to gift your purchased games to your friends, there is now a "Claim" system. Once a game is purchased you don't see the key code until it is redeemed/claimed. That way you can't gift a game that you had already used.

We also now have a "Bundles" system now too. Which can have multiple steam keys in a single purchase from the shop. We will use this feature to have some awesome sales, along with the ability to sell bundles!

Lots of cool features with this game shop. Looking for feedback

I have been working on it none stop. Even now, There are still things I'm working on with it πŸ˜› I'm not sure whether to continue developing for it, or to wait for XenForo 2.0 to release version 2.1 of the shop. Then again, I may not upgrade XenForo to 2.0.

Thats very inspiring for the clogged gaming niche. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks guys!
Yes @Lord Saru. Game Rebels was the first forums of its kind to introduce an automated game shop. We closed it 3 months ago to get a lot of development done for it. We are pleased with the current results! However, we are always working on it πŸ™‚

In v2.1 I plan on adding dedicated game pages for enhanced SEO.
The structure is there. Just need to start developing for it.

This is a current Purchase URL:
/product/playerunknowns-battlegrounds.97/buy

Going to have the game page URL as this:
/product/playerunknowns-battlegrounds.97/

Depends on what 2.1 offers that you don't have now and how much it has improved. End of the day if they have improved SEO or something in the back-end then go forward. down side that I find when updated the forum that you don't know what will break regards to all custom work

Ha ha sorry, what I said may have been confusing. This is version 2.0 of my shop. So what I was saying was, I'm not sure if I should start developing version 2.1 of my shop already, or wait for xenforo 2.0 to be released to start developing 2.1 of my shop.

Regarding XenForo 2.0, I may not even upgrade Game Rebels to it. There is just not enough new features to warrant an upgrade. Not to mention, all of my custom development of the forums will cost me about $3,000 more to transfer over to XenForo 2.1.

I will probably wait for XenForo 2.1 to be released before I start trying to transfer everything to it. Even then, I will have to wait and see what XenForo 2.1 brings to the table.

There is just too much custom development of my forums right now to even think about upgrading.

Right :depressed:. well if it goes well then keep it as is. You just got it open to the public and have you sold anything yet from your members?

Definitely. I be in a banked rubber band deep land with that amount of cash to pay in πŸ˜›

XenForo 2.0 must of some improvements and not to mention SEO.

Not really. All XenForo 2.0 was, is feature parity. Basically, since it was re-coded from the ground up, they wanted to make sure all the features of the current 1.5 series are in 2.0. Of course, there are some small new features, but they are just minimalistic things that don't warrant the upgrade.

Regarding SEO, SEO is perfectly fine in version 1 of XenForo. The SEO of XenForo 1.0 and 2.0 is exactly the same as far as I'm aware.
