I believe this has been posted before by the previous owner. I have just gotten my hands on GamerBB and I wish to make this thread as the official thread as of now. I sincerely hope to gain support from any gamers lurking around FP. Any suggestions/comments, please write at your will. Criticisms are welcome as well 🙂

The forum seems to be down 🙁

Never had an issue with downtimes for GamerBB. You may have visited when we were performing an upgrade. Let me know if it still appears down for you.

Back up 😀
Not sure I like the new logo though, makes the forum banner look pixelated D:

The forum banner was stretched which is why it looks pixelated =x But I'm thinking of getting a new animated banner for GamerBB. Also, any suggestions on how to get higher signup conversion?

What do you mean "Sign Up Conversion"?

Hmm, meaning how do I get visitors to sign up on the forum. I've read a few articles all around but it looks like the sign ups are still quite slow.

Just promote, and people sign up
There's no real "science" to promotion, you just have to do it 😉

I've been promoting GamerBB a lot and sign ups are still going quite slow. Does it have something to do with my homepage? Should I remove the slider and change it to something like normal news/article?

I honestly think it's fine. But you sound very inexperience IMO, so why would you spend so much on a forum like GamerBB and then worry about getting sign-ups? I would assume an experienced admin would know such things...

If you don't plunge yourself into the deep end you won't come across complex problems like the current one. Thus you will have less experience dealing with them.

And he didn't plunge himself in, he simply created a forum and would like more users. It's very simple and is the goal of all administrators.

Yeah, but the way he's going about it makes it sound like this is his first forum, ergo, he doesn't know anything about being an Admin and running such an already built-up community like GBB is too much for a first-time admin.

How? It's just a forum and he's trying to add what he thinks people would like to see, all of it is simple stuff in comparison to what he could be trying to do.

Honestly it doesn't matter as long as he is learning what he is doing, it doesn't matter if the forum succeeds or not so long as he learns something from the experience.

 and in the process kill a favorite forum of mine 😉
Whatever, I'm out man 😉

To answer your question, no it isn't my first forum and I've had experience in running forums and sites. I was merely asking for opinions to see what would suit visitors and whatnot, my members.

You see, I purchased the forum when it was basically dead and managed to revive it. However, only reviving it doesn't help. Getting more active members and getting discussions moving along is what I'm targetting and to do so, I figured it would be great to get some opinion from fellow FP-ers.

To be honest, I have no idea why you said I'm inexperienced by simply asking for suggestions and opinions. I could well go off without asking opinions and do it my way but as we all should know, a forum is a community and not a 1 man website.

Lastly, I apologize if I seemed to be rude but I had to explain myself.

Well, honestly I have just heard the exact same from members on their first forum, therefore I simply filled in the blank and figured you were the same. All you have to do is advertise man, it takes a lot to get a forum going, and I honestly don't worry about signups since I have active members. That should be your main worry 😉

Nah 🙂 I'm just looking for opinions and suggestions all the time to keep my members and visitors happy.

PS: I'm still open for suggestions!
