For over many years of GF's forum life, it has been created on simple, free, easy to use forum software hosted by other people. But the last two years it has been located on a great host called jcink which uses IPB 1.3. But the admin staff felt the forum could do a whole lot more if it was upgraded. So we packed up everything (member accounts, posts, all SQL info.) and moved to our own reliable hosting and had the forum upgraded from 1.3 to 3.5 on IPB.
The upgrading went well, nothing vital was lost, and our only problem was the domain link giving some people DNS problems. But month later of the upgrade, everything is working well, the forum is now ad free, everything is running on the new sleek IPB 3 software and look, and we are hoping to really expand on the forum's activity.
