Gaming Forum

I'm starting a gaming forum and I wanted to know what you would like on a gaming forum and what features you would like on it?

There are lots of gaming forums and it's hard to make a successful gaming forum that lasts for months/years, many just close in a few weeks, that is why I decided to get a custom theme for the forum so it looks different from other forums.

So any ideas or features you would like to have on a gaming forum, any mods or plugins that you like?

Do what Cloverfield & Brewer done, focus on 5 movies, but you may be best to focus on three hot games which are coming out in the future and build up discussion for them and when they are eventually out to play keep them up for 1 - 2 weeks them move those post's to general gaming discussion and then get another game and build up the tension. Tell the designer to make the theme feel as if you are in a game.

Maybe you could offer clans a part on your forums, having several active clans using your board might be a good idea, and it's something different.

yeah, that's a good idea but then there would be too many forums but I'll think about.

I was thinking about just doing a Xbox 360 forum but a general gaming forum would be more popular and easier to work with however there are lots of gaming forums so I'll have to come up with something unique and different on the forum.

Just have 1 main forum for clans and each clan a sub forum, simple and keeps the forum tidy. Maybe the most active clan can have it's section on the main page to keep the activity up.
