How do you suggest running a gaming niche forum?

I've been thinking about making one if I'm going to make another forum, and I want your input. I say to read everything because I want your opinions from how to sort the sections/categories/forums to what kind of content to make, so that is why I want all your input.

Thanks!

Make it about a specific game, series or console? Because a general gaming site covering all systems and games is very difficult to get off the ground nowadays.

I agree with CM30; it's always best to make a forum about something in specific, especially something that there are not many forums about.
Although, it's good that it's about something that is at least a tiny bit popular.
When I made my Kya Dark Lineage forum, it had members and posts, but after like two years... It was just me and a friend who really went on it.
That later on added to my current forum, which is about three games.

Yeah, but I kind of like various gaming, not specific gaming. Plus, all the games I know of have massive competition. Hmm, I'll have to put some thought into this.

I have a forum called MADMA Forums, link im my sig. It has loads of thread but not many comments. its all about technology and gaming. this month i have decided to leave the forum and start my own blog. Therefore i have the forum sat there doing nothing with the domain paid for until 2014 and the hosting paid for. if you want you could take it over free of charge.
