Do any of you use Garage Band software? I'd like to get more into songwriting and I've heard that Garage Band is actually a really great software. There are a lot of free resources out there but I am always overwhelmed with where to start. Any recommendations?

That's a great question. For those who aren't familiar with it, it's a software that allows people to create music. It features various instruments and you can hook up external interfaces and even use your own instruments to record music. I haven't dived into the software myself but really wish to in the near future when time permits.
Have you tried https://musescore.org/en
It's good stuff for writing music. Nonetheless, to actually get notes from your guitar etc. to notation you would need more. I don't think Musescore does that. Anyway, a lot of musicians aren't good enough at reading notation to write out what their playing.
