Have you or will you hold a garage/yard sale this year?

Have you ever done one? Was it a profitable experience or a waste of time?

Do you go shop at other people's garage sales?

We've been having garage sales at my parents for over a decade every summer. We have about 5 of them. We don't do it to make money but it's a good way to clean house & help others out. We also have repeat customers who come to just chitchat.
We love going to them as well. You can find some great deals at sales!

Nah, I rather not stand outside and having random strangers haggle. I would sell online or donate my stuff.

I should go for sales though, never know what you might find.

almost seven years ago since I last had a garage sale LOL

I haven't had a garage sale in over a decade and the reason is because it's so much work setting it up and then not really making a lot of money in the end.

I used to go to garage sales all the time, but then our town had major flooding and I saw garbage pickers outside going through the flooded items left out on the parkway for the garbage collection. Then I knew I didn't want to go to garage sales again because some people actually put items out that had waste in it from their overflowed toilets. Ew.

No. I don't want people coming over to my house. Imagine getting a Karen on your door step because of your prices.

I've never hosted my own but I used to go with my grandma almost every weekend as a kid. They were all listed in the newspaper. The newspaper allowed people to place an ad for a garage sale for free. We'd get out the trusty paper map and look for those addresses in the garage sale ads (didn't have smart phones or GPS back then). We'd also just drive around looking for garage sales too. Good times with grandma. We'd find neat stuff all the time.
