In todays society I don't see why gay couples who are living together like husband and wife shouldn't get the same benefits as married heterosexual couples.
But what they currently have in this country and the US is not the right to get married, it's the right to have a civil partnership which gives them all the legal benefits of marriage, and at no time in the ceremony are they allowed to mention God.
I think this is wrong and the church have to get with the times and realise that the passage in the bible that says homosexuality is wrong was written thousands of years ago and God (if he exists) would not really be offended by Gays being married in his name. After all there are out Gay vicars now how can they still deny Gay people a real marriage?

Gays have every right to get married imo.
I have mixed feelings on this point of discussion.
On one hand, i feel that homosexuals should have the right to get married, without harrasment form the public, however, they ought not to flaunt their homosexuality in public.
If they get married, they should not be allowed to adopt children, babysit children, or have any close contact with children of any kind.

Errr, why in god's name not? A person's sexuality doesn't affect their ability to play with, look after, or generally be around children.

Well, when someone's opinion is slanderous to others just because of a little thing like sexuality, one does start to worry.

I think gays should be allowed to marry. That's my belief.

Personally I think you are born gay, but thats what I think. But I believe that gays should be allowed to get marries, the gender should not matter. Dont get me wrong, I dont like seeing them, but hey, thats life. They should have the same rights as man and women, but they dont. And how will it have that effect? Gay couples are perfectly fine, it'll just teach the child that a same-sex partnership is 'normal' and a-ok. And probably help them not turn into an anti-gay.

Yep, but gay is not the correct way in my opinion and i would not be very happy at all if when i have kids, my son turned out to be gay. But i suppose I'd have to live with it.

I've a question concerning your using the bible to justify your beliefs. If the bible said commit suicide, would you do it?
You really shouldn't disapprove of others just because one book says said others are bad for doing this that and the other.

People love to use the bible to justify their actions, people use to use it to justify slavery too. Anyone can take anything out of the bible and make it seem like what they're saying is right
