Typical forum topic... you're not going to get much people if it's another general chat forum.
I'd suggest getting a unique theme or customizing the current one a lot, get a creative logo, and spicing mybb up a bit with mods!
Replace the forum descriptions with more fun ones, saying discuss or talk about in front of every single one is repetitive.
