My website http://www.fulow.com is an online auction. One of the hardest parts of running such a website is getting content listed.

I realize that there are a lot of penny auction sites out there, as well as other large established auctions which make things even harder. I don't have much of a budget for advertising so this presents another problem for me.

What I've done, with FULOW, our users have NO fees to list any items. They can list, and relist etc... until their items sell and this never costs them anything. I felt with that, that alone would be one of the reasons perhaps people would list. I mean why not right, there is NO risk of losing anything.

The only time that we ever charge anything is if you were to have a successful auction and we do have a small closing auction fee.

I've also added a value based initiative. That is as a member, if you refer someone and that person you refer has a successful auction, you will get 5% of that persons closing costs.

Could it possibly be any better? If you aren't listing items you could still be getting a little money, our fees are small so it would never be much.

Please review my site, and give me your honest feedback on what I could improve.

There are requirements for the "Advanced" review and your site doesn't meet one of them.

If it's a website, it must have been open for 90+ days.

I would read over the "Community Review Service Guidelines", which can be found here. Once you've found which review that you meet the requirements for, you can select that review for your site.

I see, if I may then change that to:

Review Type: Newbie Basic Review

Okay. When they say date opened, they are talking about when the website actually started. Not, when you actually joined and started out here on FP. If your website has been open since 2012 or 2013, then it most certainly qualifies for the "advanced" review. When I saw today's date on the date opened, I thought you meant that the site just opened today. If you would like to have the "advanced" review, then I can most certainly do that for you. If you want to keep it at the "Newbie Basic" review, I can do that for you as well. I'll leave that up to you which review you want to choose and I apologize for the inconvenience this misunderstanding may have caused.

No need for an apology, it is my error for not reading beforehand, but thank you. Anyway, for now, let's just go ahead and keep it as the Newbie basic.

Website Usability:
Being able to find your way around a site (regardless if it's a website/blog/forum)......this is a major pet peeve of mine. One thing that will make guests leave in a hurry is getting frustrated with the site when they can't find what they're looking for. But that doesn't seem to be an issue with your website and I'm glad. I liked the list of categories off to the side, that helps customers find exactly what they're looking for. I'm not sure why the "sell", "log in", "register" and all the other stuff at the top isn't in the navigation bar. That just seems like a waste of space not having that in the navigation bar, which is where people would normally look for those kind of things.

Excellent

Design Quality:
As far as the overall design of your forum.....it is okay. There is nothing hindering you from reading anything on that white background but there is one thing that bothers me. There is a bunch of "empty" white space on both sides. I would think that all that empty space could be utilized rather than remaining empty. You can try filling up the space with widgets showing your customers things like "Our best deals" or something to that effect. You could also add a little widget that explains what your company is or what it does to new customers, that could be another idea.

Average

Thing you liked best about website: How easy it is to find things.
Thing you liked least about website: All the "empty" space.

Overall Mark:

I think you're off to a good start but there are a few minor changes that I would make (but that's just me). I wish you the best of luck with your website.

Thank you for the quick review and fair assessment. That is encouraging to know I'm headed in the real get direction.
