What do you do to try to relieve your symptoms or get rid of a cold faster? Is there a trick or do you have to just let it run its course?

I'm not sure if there's any way to get over a cold faster, but you can ease the symptoms. I try to get a lot of rest first and foremost. If it comes with a sore throat, "honey lemon tea" works well. It isn't really tea, though, it's basically hot lemonade with honey instead of sugar to coat your throat. For stuffiness, I just take a hot shower. It doesn't last long, but nice in the meantime. Then NyQuil to sleep!

I am also sick. Heal me. Wave your magic over me. Expunge the filthy bacteria.

On a more serious note, interesting advice lol

My cold has transformed into the big bad cough. What are good cough remedies?

Consult a doctor. Cough can turn into Pneumonia if unattended due to infection to the chest.

I upped my magnesium and it actually helped open the airways today! Yay

Whenever I have a cold, I drink lots of orange juice and eat soup. I also take mucinex and it works better than other cold medicines at least for myself. Get some rest as well, and you can get over it a bit faster. Though if your symptoms get worse and last a long time, you should consult your doctor.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but drinking warm water is one of the most effective ways.

*Viruses, fungi, and prions breathe a sigh of relief*

Well, the first and last don't actually do any sort of respiration. Hmm. My joke is scientifically inaccurate. 🙁

Covonia

I am currently still getting rid of a virus, had it now for almost 4 weeks. No way to get rid of it just having to let it run it's course.
For a cold. I have lemon/lime, ginger, cayenne pepper tea. vit c, peppermint tea, menthol rubs, sleep.
Unfortunately a cold for me will last as long as it likes because I have a weak immune system. So I use a mask when going to public places to prevent me getting people's germs. usually :/

I have learned two recipes. One being ginger garlic soup and another being chicken noodle soup. Both are good for sick days in rainy or winter season.

Honey is surely one way! My engineering teacher recommended it and I have used it ever since!

I love Covonia. Used it when I had a cough due to COVID a few weeks ago, and it helped great with that too. Works great for colds/flu too

- Potato soup is another good one to eat if you're sick. It's feels good going down when you eat it. My grandmother use to make it whenever someone would get sick. We'd always call it miracle soup because we'd always feel better when we ate it.

- Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Zinc and Elderberry are good ones to take.

- Muccinex is good to help get rid of the cough.

I usually stay indoor when the breeze is too cold at night. Most time i take ointment like robb and rub on my skin.

rest, rest and rest and water is just what the doctor ordered.

Seriously screw the Vitamin C and other craps that doesn't actually addresses the symptoms in the meantime.

NyQuil (the liquid and Night Time stuffs) however is a good bet I heard and have a good time with to ensure a good night sleep. 👍

If your in luck just by resting and drinking water seriously it may improve in just after a few days (those the worst, the next few days you get them).

If the cold isn't heavy, for me is good a lemon juice with a little spoon of olive oil. I usually drink it in the morning before breakfast. But be careful with this juice if you suffer from stomach issues as severe gastritis or ulcers.
