I don't receive enough emails per day on Gmail for Priority Inbox to be useful. At the end, I distinguish emails just by their subject (isn't it why emails have a subject field?) :
What matters - n.irc.su, Slashdot, certain Newsletters, certain forums notifications, development emails and support requests
Everything else - Facebook, all the other newsletters, all the other forums notifications, all SPAM
Starred - I really don't use that thing of putting a star on things 🙂

BTW, you also have filters if you receive too much emails per day to be able to classify them as important or not.

So...
Why do we need Priority Inbox? Only people that don't know or are too lazy to setup their own filters will use it. <----- Most likely these people are the ones that also use Google Instant.

Google... always providing. Used gmail for around 2 years now, fast clean, filters the spam without fail and most registration systems support it!

So this is another great addition to an already award winning email system 🙂
