With other social media options out there now I say forums are not dead since google still relies on them but it’s definitely harder but not impossible.

What are some ways you get new members for your forum site! 🙂

When I think about some of the forums I visit that aren't related to my exposure here on FP, I wonder about why I go to them and the main reason is because they provide me with something that other types of sites don't.

One can be medical experiences where I can learn about what to expect before, during and after a surgery that could potentially happen to me. I know they aren't doctors and I am not looking for medical advice, but experiences. What could help me during recovery that others are aware of that my doctor isn't...because he never went through it himself.

Another thing I look for on some sites is information on how to do something or why something isn't working. That could be vehicle related or something like why is my dishwasher not doing what it's supposed to do. Oftentimes contractors will give their valuable input and save me a couple hundred dollars to be able to fix something myself.

On Christianity Haven, some people come there for fellowship with other Christians. Having a like mind can avoid some of the stresses of online life for the most part so that's probably another good reason for why people join forums (like-minds).

There are a couple of forums I check out almost exclusively for the meme threads, lol.

It’s probably best to ensure you have good content to keep people coming back. Plus an active community, at least enough activity That when people come back there’s something for them to read.

I think forums are better, I never got why people think Facebook or TikTok is slightly good.

I'm not even on TikTok and have no desire to start.

I think learning the flow of how forums operate can be overwhelming to some people. I have a friend who is about 15 years older than I am and when I invited her to Christianity Haven she said it was too complicated. I see it as being simplistic but she wanted only one or two places to be able to post and didn't understand the concept of the way that forums get organized (for good reason!).

I’m a Gen Y so I’m between forums & social media.

I have TikTok but don’t use it much, that’s another point people don’t want quality products anymore they want quick garbage which I call it.

I've recently blogged about it but I think using the Question sites like Quora might be ideal to get more members on your forum.

But like many of the marketers out there are saying...you got to work for it.

In 2022, the market is so competitive that there is no more turnkey forum promotion tactics...

You either pay for advertising which does work if you play it right or you work your butt off promoting and selling others to join your forum.

It's a hot spot for tweens and teens. A lot of women I know seem to watch it constantly.
I do but don’t see it’s point everything on TikTok is on YouTube and I agree!

And Quora is another great idea! Facebook is a bad idea I already tried that one they always think Facebook is superior when it’s not.

I know it’s possible since there’s still many active forums and once someone starts getting use to going to a site they will make it part of their routine, but definitely not like it was a decade ago. 🙂

You still have to work for it and continue visiting new sites and making friends, I stay away from FB and others as it won't help to get people to a forum.
Heck my family won't bother with forums but it's not like I haven't tried, they get hooked into FB and TikTok and it's game over

The forum needs to have quality threads. When I say quality, I mean well-written, informative, and engaging.

Pay them to join and pay them to post 😛 that's what 2022 is going to be like more than before.
