Why 1-3 sentences?
It makes sure that tips are brief enough to be easily read and avoids the problem of someone posting a long in depth guide that should be its own thread in the section.
My tip
When smudging in Photoshop, start by briefly moving your smudge tool TOWARDS the focal point and then drag it out. This creates different shades of smudging whereas clicking near your focal point and moving out straight away will create a more solid smudge. Moving in briefly and then out with your smudging tool makes each individual smudge streak look more natural and diverse.
