I know that gif's are very low quality and I was just wondering if there was any other type of format I could save it(as an animation) as so it looks better.
Thanks!
I think this is the right section 😛

Definitely .png for currently recognized file types, applicable for general web usage. It's also endorsed by the World Wide Web Consortium where .png replaced.gif.

as I said earlier there was another format and I found it.

.apng format (Animated Portable Network Graphics)

not yet supported by major softwares though.

yes, but .png doesn't support animations
I must have missed the "animated" part. You can always optimize your .GIFs in your program. I think GIFs are really the only worldwide supported animation formats which can be opened by major graphic editors.

I don't think it works with photoshop or fireworks which is all that I have :/

It doesn't really work if you have a lot of colors. I mean, it will work for simple ones, but not complex ones

doesn't work with GIMP either that's why I said it isn't supported widely yet.
GIMP has some other animation formats but they never work.

as long as you have got a background and the frame change rate is slow then you can maintain higher quality then usual.

Alright, thanks Ashish92 🙂 I will follow that for the time being but I would like there to be another format 😀

I would too as gif's absolutely fail in transparency.
You can say that again 😛 I was working on something and it would faid in and out and I realized it wouldn't do transparentcy!

Fireworks has that, correct? I don't think Photoshop has that if I'm not mistaken.

-- Mon Jan 03, 2011 10:11 pm --

Fireworks has that, correct? I don't think Photoshop has that if I'm not mistaken.
