Is anybody a user of this?

Giveaway of the day is a website that teams up with developers to give away (what should be) Licensed software every day. Each day they update it and offer a new piece of software. Sometimes they have some quite cool stuff, although equally they offer quite useless things.

Today's is a program called "mgWindow":
Use mouse gestures to control the active window easily and quickly. No need to move you mouse pointer to the title bar to click the control buttons anymore, just draw a simple shape or a letter shape to close, maximize, minimize the active window. For example, if you want to close the active window, just moving your mouse and drawing a letter “X”. It is a very useful tool for the user who has a large screen or a laptop.

I used to be a regular user of the site, although I ended up with a hard drive full of stuff i'd only use that day then forget about. Would be very interested to hear other people's experiences with this site ~smile~

I added their RSS feed, though I must ask, is the products only free for that day (such as a trial) or are they good forever?

Basically, every day we nominate one software title that will be a Giveaway title of that day. The software will be available for download for 24 hours (or more, if agreed by software publisher) and that software will be absolutely free. That means - not a trial, not a limited version - but a registered and legal version of the software will be free for our visitors*.

The software product will be presented in its full functionality, without any limitations save for those mentioned in Terms and Conditions.

Never mind, found it on the about page -happy-

Sounds great, thanks for sharing.

The RSS idea is great!

I think it's a great idea, but I haven't heard of any of the software.

Thanks for the link,

will check it out when i get a free minute

I used to be a part of these websites, as they are a good idea. But the lack of Mac software kept me away. If I ran XP or Vista I would use it everyday.

I have never used it, I don't think I will in the future either.

I used to use them, but when I got spyware from the downloads, I left.
I didnt get any spyware, although I havnt downloaded the software yet. I did get a game (which didnt work right...) though. Any spyware is probably a flase postive seeing as the software has to connect to the server to activate on first install.

I would assume they check it for spyware though. A big site like that wouldn't have downloads of spyware.

Valid point as well. If their users got viruses and junk, well they wouldnt have any users left =P
