The Bible seems to suggest that giving up it all is the right thing to do. Should we take Jesus as a total example when he rejected the "kingdoms of the world" in his desert temptation? Well, I mean, everyone one wants at least "some fame and riches".

The Bible seems to suggest

But the Bhagavad Gita, The Quran, The Torah, The Tipitaka, The Agam Sutras, & The Furukotobumi all have differing opinions on what people should do with their lives too. If you were to win the lottery or inherit a large fortune of wealth, you're more than welcome to give it up to appease your religious beliefs. Do what you want. I know I am.

I won't deny pearls of wisdom come from that. However, I am not a hell, fire, and brimstone believer. I think hell is purgatory, so I think people get more chances for going the wrong way, when they seemed to mean right.

For instance, the original greek doesn't suggest eternal. It says in the bible "thrown into prison - until the last penny is paid."

How much of the original wording of the Bible is truly known? How much is what people want to believe?
