hi, I may get godaddy on my forum.

is it a good domain 😕

I would recommend Namecheap.
If you go here: https://www.namecheap.com/promos/coupons.aspx it will show you the current coupons Namecheap offers. Plus Namecheap offers free private domains meaning that your information will not show up in the Whois database.

I run my domains through Namecheap, its by far better than GoDaddy. I recommend Namecheap more than GoDaddy.

I've heard a lot of people have had issues with GoDaddy. Myself, I have not had too many issues when I used them in the past besides bad support. Check out these articles:

Godaddy is a good brand and I have one of the domains hosted with them. Their support is great and quiet responsive.

I've heard bad things about godaddy, so I've never used them. I would recommend namecheap.com instead.

I used to be with godaddy and I moved away from them since it wasn't cheap and servers aren't what I thought it was. Other then that there support team was good, Well that one guy that I talked to anyway

I use GoDaddy for 80% of my domains and about 20% for hosting and I've never had a problem with them in the 4Years I've used them. I switched to Hostinger for around 4months for a couple of my domains and hosting but wasn't best pleased. Thet are a good service provider but not as good as GoDaddy.

Overall I'd rate GoDaddy 4.5/5.

Hosting your forum on GoDaddy is a bad idea, so don't do it. The problem with it is that you could be sharing a server with 100s of other sites, the majority of them spam generating. They don't even bother to deal with that kind of activity. We got blocked by Avast because of the activity from the server IP. I explained the situtation and they unblocked us, but advised us to get off that server fast. We had planned to anyway because it was a little laggy.

If you're registering your domain with them, fine, but don't buy their hosting. Trust me.
