I hate being on forums and I'm the only one online. What do you do if you're the only one online? Do you leave or just dig up topics or start new ones?

When nobody is online its a great opportunity to catch up on posts. When I need to catch up on reading/replying to posts on my forum sometimes I'll turn off all my alerts temporarily so I can get through all the threads without being distracted by the alerts, if nobody is online then I don't need to do that.

So that explains why when I tag you at OT it takes you forever to look at it. You shut me off 😛

FP is very hard to have no one online and just yourself 😛 I am never able to see that anymore. I just have to work double time to be able to do that hahahahah

I should start doing more things with bayside you know 😉 Crazy life and a crazy world I see 😛

End of the day most would not stick round anyway, why post and then wait hours or years for an answer on a dead site

My forum nowadays and so many others..

I've grown to get used to it honestly on many forums anymore. No forum seems to be that active anymore or have users online.

It happens on so many forums nowadays that I have found that sometimes you are the only one online aside from bots usually. I find that is a perfect time for me to catch up on things and also post new content as well.

Unfortunately, I feel we are at a stage with forums where they are not as popular as they used to be so seeing only yourself online may be something you see more often than you did before.

If I'm the only one online, I don't care. I am usually there for the discussions that are already in place.

Agree. I honestly think we're truly at this stage.

I don't care either myself, and it happens more often than you think with you only being on.

I've been the only one as well. I don't mind it. Plus, some may be in Invisible Mode.

More and more it seems that there have been fewer people going to forums, which can be hard to get numbers. Most active based forums are group of people working together and support each other, I'm always doing it alone

Yeah, I had one mod on DB but pretty much before then was doing it myself.

Not very often, FP is empty from what I see; if nobody is online I work on other things.

Definitely -- get posting, make content, force people to respond to you so the next time you visit there's plenty to interact with. The beauty of a forum is that it isn't here and now, we can post when we want and still hold logical, organized discussions.

I don't mind being the only one online - I'm often browsing the forum, contributing to discussions or starting new ones on I'm happy to get on with that on my own. Nothing is more rewarding then coming back later that day/tomorrow and seeing other people hopping onto your threads, or engaging with you in replies.

Sadly though, a lot more common to be the only one online - a lot of forums are much quieter then they use to be 🙁

When I'm the only one on here I will go through old topics and see what was discussed back in the day.

If I'm the only one online on a forum I will add some posts to threads already started and will make threads. If I notice that the staff haven't logged in the forum in a while, I probably would stop visiting the forum though.

Okay so wait...isn't there an add on that can let someone remain "online" even when they aren't? Would that make the forum more appealing just to see a name there?

For me, being the only one online means is that no one is literally there posting new content or posting in threads for me to respond to. I also don't like being the only making 4 or 5 threads only to come back 2 or 3 days later to see that no one has posted at all. Inactivity really kills the mood.
