I want to hold a contest to gain Facebook fans. Currently I have 20 likes and am hoping to give away small cash prizes once I reach 100 fans. I don't have much money so I was thinking like a prize of $10 or two smaller $5 prizes. Would this entice people or not?

You should give what you have or are allowed to give, talking about your spending limit. You have to start somewhere, and then grow from there. When I had my forum and I did something like this, I gave something like $15, and the winner was actually happy with it. You'd think, "Yeah, it's just $15", but it's better than nothing and they get it for doing really nothing. Anything is better than noting and you know what they say, it's the thought that counts.
$10 or $15 is still nice . Enough to get people to participate in any case.
Prizes are fantastic, as they can grow with the size of your business. Eventually you can give substantial prizes and gadgets away, bringing even more people in.
