Hey everyone, my forum The ZuluWhiskey Community is currently hosted by Prophpbb. Now, I do intend to change the name and get a URL for the site, but I am also thinking about moving to a different host where I can use any custom theme I want. I just wanted to know what's a good host that is either cheap or free, and how to smoothly move my forum to a new host using backups of the current forum.
Glad to see you grow! Moving to different hosts can be a bit difficult for some, but most hosts will do account migrations for free. All you'll need to do is contact them and ask them to restore an account using backups you've generated.
I don't mean to sound like I'm advertising, but I offer free migrations as well, and I usually just import the accounts using the backups/restore function in cPanel. Every host is different, and sometimes you'll need to look around for what suits you best.
I recommend SRVIS for sure, they will make your transition nice and smooth 🙂 Their services are also inexpensive 🙂 I pay less than $20 a year for my hosting right now 🙂
