I think it might make you easier to find on Google, and other search engines if you use your forum name as your username since your forum name would be indexed more by search engines.

But, I personally do not like using my forum name as my user name on other forum since it looks overly promotional, and somewhat spammy if my forum is a keyword rich name like "Pet Advice Forum".

I mainly just use my regular username on forums, and stick to using my signature area on forums to promote my forums links.

It feels somewhat arrogant in my opinion as in a way it markets it as your forum and makes it feel less like a forum for members as a whole, and honestly just isn't the route that I'd desire, and I don't know if the reward outweighs the consequence.

My username is based on my real name, so i used it to register here. Make sit easier for my brain to deal with things. I am a bit overwhelmed by the social media aspect of promotions! I couldn't start having different names for places closely related to work.

I wouldn't do it personally, it would make me sound like I didn't exist or I was just a forum rather than a person...As if there was no true identity to the person.

I don't really think its a good idea, I mean it might help with advertising a bit because you websites name would be in all of your posts, But personally I wouldn't do it.

I have seen many members registered using their forum names as the user names. Personally I find it uncomfortable, like Hotspot, as if the member is not real. I never heard that if you use your forum name as user name in other forums it can improve result in search engines or something like that though. I would rather be a 'real' member than looking like a bot, LOL~

It's pretty annoying to me. It basically shows you aren't there to do anything but promote. Overall a cold thing to do as a member :/
