Google +1

Dammit, another button to clutter webpages with?

Seems like this would have been a good idea maybe five years ago, but now? Also, I don't trust people, so if I'm looking for a new coffee maker I'm not going to go by how many "+1"s it has...I'll research my options just as much as I would without this feature.

Google, I love ya, but this seems like a waste.

plus 1 is looking good, but lets see how it goes. There are always new features popping up, almost every day of the week. The success will be whether it is adopted by more than just webmasters.

Have you seen where they put it? You make it sound like every new feature google comes out with is in the way, it's the most out of the way feature I have ever seen.

I'm not talking specifically about Google features, I'm talking about things like RSS, Twitter, etc., etc. which can often take up a good chunk of a corner of a site. Of course, that's mostly due to poor web design (particularly with overly-glossy Web 2.0 designs), so maybe I shouldn't put Google at fault, but still, this +1 button still seems rather useless.

That looks good, but i don't want google to become the next social network 🙁

The Google +1 is to make Google more social. That's Google's version of the Facebook "likes", a simple feature that's very powerful. They help to gunning to '+1' Websites as you like.
