Google Adwords.

Hey all,

I wanted to post this and ask if someone could make a Google Adwords for dummies and make it a sticky. I just wanted to see if someone could give it a rough run down on how to use it what it does how much it costs etc. I know there's a help page but i thought the forum could benefit from it.
Even though it defeats the purpose of why everyone is a Forum Promotion i think its still worth having a small part for newbies to see how it works. Especially since i do not understand AdWords myself.

Honestly you'd find it easier to go through the FAQ on the official site, it's really detailed and is easy to understand.

While that may be true Nathan, it never hurts to have something here for our regular visitors to help them get started with google adwords.

No. Adwords (while still part of google) is different from Adsense. Though I've never used Adwords, I'm sure how you use adwords is at least somewhat different from how you use adsense. But you can't quote me on it because I'm not fully sure.

You have to make an adwords campaign and target your keywords.

The adwords campaign is like an advertising campaign. You can make a banner or you can advertise using text. Then you have place a bid for your keyword or keywords. There are many other features to analyze your campaign and to see how your campaign will perform the best. However, adwords can be expensive if you don't know what your doing. I don't really use it much, but I have to admit that when I use it does bring some traffic.
