Google Chrome and Linux

I think it is available in the Ubuntu Software Center under applications. All you have to do is search for Chrome or Google Chrome in the Ubuntu Software Center. Ubuntu Software will install Google Chrome for you.

The default browser in ubuntu is firefox and chrome is available via the software manager

Look for Google Chrome 5.0 .deb files. If not, SRWare Iron is a really good fork of Chrome.

.deb is your friend. It's Debian/Ubuntu's equivalent to an exe.

Just to add that under Linux (no matter the distro), you might only find "Chromium" when you search for "Chrome". If that's the case, you can install Chromium instead of Google Chrome because it's basically the same thing, with the difference that Chromium isn't Google-branded as Chrome, and might contain untested features not included in Chrome.

Chromium is the open source project in which Google Chrome is based.
