I've heard that Google + isn't that great for SEO or as an all around community. It seems like a flop by Google. There are a few very active communities but the rest seems pretty dead. Most of it is spam or self promotion.
 
A few SEO scanners state that it does impact it, however to what extent I'm not too fully sure. I do know that after I added my Google+ page to my website's HTML code in the "publisher" tag it did improve my rankings slightly.
 
Google+ really only allows you to post pictures, Facebook offers a variety of ways for fans to interact with your brand. It has polls, apps, events, notes (mini blog posts) and even "friend activity," which shows when your friends are talking about your company.
