Pardon me for this post, no offense meant to Google or to any other search engine. It is just my observation that books, textbooks in particular, are going obsolete with the ease of getting information via the search engine. In the olden days, there was a quiz show that receives a call from home contestants. They cannot do that now because the contestant can search for the answer to the quiz show’s question. In schools, some students tell me that they are using the search engine more than they read their textbook. So where is the world going?
It's more an example of where the world went right really, searching for the answer on a search site is far easier than thumbing through a textbook to get the same information. Someone at some point already did all of the legwork, thus saving time and making everything more productive.
Unless somehow people are getting to the wrong answer, but then they learn from making a mistake. The same mistakes can be made from reading information in a textbook wrong.
