Just checked my Google Page Rank and I finally got off the 0 mark and got a 3 out of 10! Guess all that work is starting to pay off!

Nah! All the work will pay off when you're finally getting a lot of traffic and making a decent amount of cash from your website (assuming your aim is to make $$ from websites).

Or if not - when you have a happy/active community.

well I consider it starting to pay off as I've spent hours and hours without seein many results.. last few weeks have been great though!
