Google to shut down Google plus

I don't think they will shut down, there is no information that is stating that. We tend to not hear or see what google is doing or what they have behind closed doors. Don't know what will happen, I think that no one known.

I started using the service few weeks back and now Google has said they are going to close the project in 10 months 🙁

I know right.. lol what an shame

Even without this, I don't think anyone would bat an eye, if they shut the thing down.

For the most part, Google has infinite money, they can have any unpopular and unprofitable project going on forever with the slim hope that it might do something meaningful in the future and siphon out a little bit of extra data from the users.

With this, they've just realised that the whole thing is more hassle than it's worth, they seem to be annoyed at the prospect of going before Congress and have their name dragged through the mud for what is some crap which never took off anyway.

I liked the older version of google plus. Nice, clean design and looked good. The newer version is a bit too wonky and makes accessing your page a bit more difficult. Not surprised it's being axed though. It didn't have a ton of users, not enough to make keeping it online worthwhile I guess.

Google Plus was still a thing? I thought everybody had forgotten about it by now.

I found out about this while I was at work and to be honest I was relieved. I handle all the social media at my work and Google+ is very empty, it has lots of inactive accounts from forcing people with youtube accounts to convert so I am happy.

Google has YouTube, so what's the big loss here?

The point I am making is that a lot of people were forced into it meaning that they have a lot of inactive users. When I am posting it's very difficult to get people we know are our clients to like one of our posts. Google does own YouTube but around 2010 they had to have a Google+ account to use and now there has been a data breach.
