Got a slow website? Google to label your site in the SERPS
A small number of search results have recently started showing a new red "slow" label next to websites that take longer than average to load.

Do you think that it is Google's place to tell people this kind of information?
Re: Got a slow website? Google to label your site in the SER
I don't think it's Googles place to tell anyone this. Obviously if I visit a website and it seems to be loading slow, I will just click "back" and find one that isn't ;]
Re: Got a slow website? Google to label your site in the SER
I don't see why it's bad. I guess it's just a little alert to the site's owner to fix up their loading times!

I agree. All google is doing is warning users. If thats doing harm to that website then the owner better fix it and not be lazy.
Re: Got a slow website? Google to label your site in the SER
I don't know, I think that is discouraging for a website that may be just getting started and using cheaper hosting till things pick up. I don't support stepping on someone trying to climb their way to the top.
Re: Got a slow website? Google to label your site in the SER
'Slow flag' better for both, user and site's owner.
Re: Got a slow website? Google to label your site in the SER
I don't see the problem here. It just shows a warning if the website is slow or not. Maybe it's laggy and not just slow.
Re: Got a slow website? Google to label your site in the SER
Ironic that the two sites labelled slow are both Google's own ones! Seems a tad hypocritical to me...
