Does a forum with bad grammar or spellings put you off from signing up there?

Re: Grammer

Yes it gets on my nerves especially when people come on this forum and do it aswell. It does really bother me when they get little things wrong but when the write stuff like 'teh' 'kwl' it annoys me.

Re: Grammer

p015.gif Most definately ~ you can forgive a few spelling mistakes but when the forum is full of text talk, poor grammer and bad spelling it's a reall turn off for me

Re: Grammer

grammer? You mean grammar? Dude that word just killed the purpose of this topic...

Not really. But if it is an extreme, I won't join.
I can't stand dumb people.

We had a very dumb person once on here I think he registered about 4 accounts and in each intro fowler said 'isnt this your 2nd account) or whatever account number is was -lol- He ended up banning him but he done something else but I cant remember

Ahh yeah that was barkerdude or something. He spammed loads of forums and he could never make a post with a single word spelt right. -evil-

I've never really joined a forum with bad grammar, it just shows no dedications and time has been put into it.

as much as i can understand the frustration it causes others, i dnt mind a few words here and there, but when its extreme thats when i mind a little,, but as a whole it wont stop me joining a board if i feel the purpose of me joining the board is a strong one.

Like I said ~ you can forgive a few spelling mistakes or are you just being very picky?? Everyone is prone to the odd mistake and it's very easily done ~ and and I'm sorry, but it's a little childish to pick someone up on ONE mistake.

I think the point of this is that the majority of people get turned off by excessive spelling mistakes and poor grammar.

As an English major, I'm especially picky, and I've been known to respond to people's posts pointing out a mistake when it especially bugs me.

So yeah, it's a factor for me.

Yes, I hate it when people can't even take the time to spell out the word "with".

yeah, i used to post like that, but it just seems easier to post words in full, so i do that instead

Yes I have to say no spelling or grammar mistake escapes my notice (which can be quite tiresome!) but we all make typos and have moments of haziness about things which is entirely forgivable. My issue is with those (especially forum admins) who have appalling spelling/grammar out of laziness. If you can't be bothered to type correctly or proof-read your writing how are you going to effectively administer a forum?

 I was just trying to correct him before someone else did, but I can be picky at times....Also about the spelling mistakes....You kind spelled wrong definitely, grammar, and real on your first post.

The truth is I hate correcting people, but when your sitting in a classroom for 2 hours getting corrected......It sticks to you.
