Have you ever seen any grammatical errors / mistakes on web hosting sites? I'm not referring to spelling mistakes (we all make those sometimes), but rather faulty sentence structure or words used in the wrong context...
How do they make you feel? Are you less likely to buy hosting from a company that has grammar errors on their website?
I came across this hosting company that says they'll give you a (total) speech about freedom with every hosting plan:
I was also receive a similar complaint against my site but hired a grammar expert and they fix errors but I think instead of looking at grammar we should look at hosting support system, server speed and uptime.
I mean you purchase a hosting from a company who's grammar is 100% correct but support is very slow and uptime is not more then 88% 😉
Poor spelling and/or grammar results in distrust of the professionalism of any operation, including web hosts. I have never purchased from a webhost with poor spelling/ grammar. It's what motivational theorists call a hygiene factor, having proper spelling/ grammar and good sentence structure won't encourage you to signup to a host but poor spelling and grammar will discourage you from signing up.
I have to say that some hosts Especially those from Countries whose first language is not English seem to have a higher amount of Grammatical errors. Now I also Do not specifically look for errors but If I see one I let them know. I have gotten service from hosts with small errors and never had an issue. To me it is more about Service and Support than anything.
I see a lot when their first language isn't English and usually hosted in another country, which makes sense. 😛
I agree with Sam, proper grammar and spelling is a must for any kind of website, and even though it will not get you members it does ruin chances of getting members or clients. Spelling mistakes happen to all of us every now and then, but you should always double check for it all or at least use a editing program with spell check. 😛
I would not buy from a hosting company with bad grammar, it just makes me think that the support tickets would all be nonsense and I would not be able to understand them, which would not be good. 😛
Grammar is an important part of a website. This will help browsers to know exactly about your services. A slight error in grammar can change the whole sentence or what is being conveyed to your website visitors. Therefore I feel that grammar is very important for any website, and not only web hosting.
