Where you live, is it normal for people to greet one another as they pass by on the street?

Where I live now it is pretty normal because so few people live here. That certainly wasn't the case when I lived in London (UK) though.

Did people avoid eye contact in London? When I worked in Chicago, you just didn't look at someone unless you were trying to flirt.

People here avoid each other like the plague, it's really quite sad.

I'd say it's pretty normal to greet people as you pass where I live. I'm a little shy, though, so I usually don't initiate anything. XD

How I usually greet people on the street or the road is just by waving 👋 at them. Unless, it's someone I have a direct relationship with, then I would stop to exchange pleasantries with him or her.
