So on my new social network, I watch visitors come and go on Google Analytics. But the catch is, they leave once they hit the "This is logged in content, please login to view it." and that is displayed on every page except for profiles.

So should I remove it? Should I leave it on some tabs? Should I hide the tabs to guest?

All feedback is greatly appreciated.

I think it's fine the way it is. You're probably blocking quite a few spammers this way, but real users would log in or register anyway. 🙂

Pandaa, thank you for your feedback! I figured it'd be blocking some of the spammers out but I didn't want to lose some potential users.

Maybe open up certain things to the public so they get a feel for things. But don't let them do anything else but view it.

So basically place a transparent image over all the content so they can't do anything but allow them to see it?

When I join a social network I like to see what's going on on the site before I register. Sites that force me to register before I can view content don't make me want to register at all, and neither does the whole transparent image thing.
