I would say that Guest blogging is very effective method of link building today, by utilizing this, you would be able to build quality links but it is a little hard to get your article published on other quality and related blogs.

Yes, I agree, guest blogging is a good way to get traffic to your site. I would recommend not only blogging on sites similar to yours, but also a few different genres to pull different types of people in. Also, this is a bit obvious but I have seen people make this mistake before, make sure your articles are of a good quality, otherwise no one will bother to check out your site.

Is this where you let guests post their own blogs? KInd of like MySpace or MyJournal?

I should add that I've never run a public blog before. I have done some blogging, but all my entries were private...they weren't the usual blogs you'd find like how to deal with people on forums and such or what makes a good webmaster or whatever...

Not exactly. It's when you allow other people to post on your blog. So for example, you come to me with a post that you think would be a great addition to my blog and I post it up (or in some cases you would post it depending on the blogger). Usually the posts are screened by the blogger to make sure they're appropriate and sometimes they'll ask you to make edits to the post as well.

Either way, I haven't done guest blogging myself, but I have had guest bloggers post on my blog. I hope to do some guest blogging in the near future though, as soon as I find some extra time.

Guest blogging indeed can be a great backlink building tool, especially if your site is up and coming and is in need of such traffic. 🙂

That sort of makes sense. I guess I've never really run a blog before, so I wouldn't know. Any blogs I have had have been private.
