Activision has just released a bunch of information concerning a lot of their game series, including that the Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Tony Hawk franchises are all being laid to rest...at least for 2011.

Finally, is all I can say. Are these series gone for good? Too soon to tell, but it sounds like they have no plans to start work on them again anytime soon. I'm so glad, too, for obvious reasons. GH was the biggest cash cow on the market, and although I never played DJ Hero, given the quality of the GH games I doubt I'm missing out. And don't even get me started on Tony Hawk....

Other interesting news is a new division of Activision called Beachhead, which is dedicated to the new Call of Duty platform that aims to be a Battle.net (of sorts) for the CoD community. This really makes me :rofl

Also, don't expect the next Starcraft II installment or Diablo III this year. 🙁

I'm sad that there won't be anymore GH games. Well, I take that back, they should stick to the latest one and just offer DLC song packs now instead.

But it's Activision - they're basically as bad as EA is at milking their franchises to death.

That's why the only decent music game on the market is Rock Band. 😉

EA isn't even that bad with milking; they're just extremely bad with support.

Don't worry though, GTA: Aerosmith will be coming out soon if Activision ends up taking over Take-Two

DJ Hero was a failure and Guitar Hero is just dead as it has been repeating itself for like 7 games now(?).

And nobody likes tony hawk.
