The good thing about v3.0.0 series of phpBB was tested for really long... 'cause it took about 5 1/2 years to release after the release of phpBB2, but it was started being made in 1/2 a year later.

I am currently developing a site but I really hope it isn't hacked. I've installed as much security into the site as I can with my slightly limited knowledge of php though.

Did you salt your md5? Also if you want to, you should use phpass, it is the same thing that phpBB3 uses to protect their passes 😉

Nope. I try to use 2FA wherever I can to make sure that doesn't happen.

I have been running my sites since 2015 and I have not been hacked. My Twitter account was hacked once. But I found quickly and immediately changed my password.

Yeah when I used MyBB it happened. XenForo is far more secure.

I have been hacked once.

I had a Wordpress site running a paid theme from RocketTheme which incorporated an image resizing script called TimThumb. That plugin resulted in many thousands of sites being compromised including mine.

I've never had any of my own websites hacked, I however did have to change my password on numerous sites before because I had the bad tendency to reuse the same password on multiple sites in the past and my 000webhost account was part of a dump log. I've since use different passwords for everything and set up 2FA on many different sites I join just for that extra layer of protection.

I had a forum hacked once many years ago by someone who was in competition with me, they successfully managed to take down a lot of my forum but luckily I did have a recent backup and was able to salvage much of the forum much to their upset when they realized. I had someone come in and ensure I had everything set right to prevent an attack again and so far, I have not had any incident like that again since.
