I sometimes read a post in Facebook that a friend was out of the loop for a time because his account was hacked. It's a good thing that he was able to recover his account. Not once but many times I have seen that kind of post which made me think... how do hackers do that. Do you know a method of hacking a password? All I know is to guess the password and nothing more. Is there an app that can do the hacking for me?

there are a lot of forums out there that are about hacking and talk about this stuff (i am not on them but i know of them lol)

as far as i know they do not support hacking over here anyways, which is good in my opinion
People forget that a truly skilled hacker can get in without resorting to attacking the system. They can get in by either convincing you to let them in ("Hey, I have this awesome app that connects to your account and posts reminders for you... just let it connect") or getting you to reveal enough information that they can guess your password.
This may seem crazy... but if you go on nonstop about your cat named mitttens then don't use mittens for the password. Similarly don't use birthdays, phone numbers, addresses, children's names (or parent names), hobbies or anything that is publicly connected to you. They're far too easy to guess.
And in some cases they can use fake login screens to capture details. Very often they have a nearly identical looking login screen but the url is just slightly off (and it's one of the only real clues it's fake, the other being likely no https). Entering your username and password gets sent to whomever set up the fake site and they're into your account. They may have it so that on successful entering of your password they redirect you to the real login (to make it look like you just mistyped the password).

Oh, I'm sorry for not being clear with this thread. I have reread my post and it appears that I am wanting to hack. No, sorry that's not my point. I am asking about hacking in order to have a clear idea and how to avoid being hacked. Again, I'm sorry for my figurative statement about the app, It's not my intention.
In my years on the net, i have seen how easy it is to get into accounts, be it FB or boards gaining access to root admin passwords, i have been on a few boards that were targets just because of the size of them, yes you can recover the Data but it is a pain. I personally know of a program that can be used to change directory passwords, change and access root admins passwords no matter what their security measures, in fact i have used it to gain access to a board where all the admin passwords had been compromised and it took me no more than a couple of minutes to do so (I did it to get the passwords re issues to the board owner)..
It doesn't matter what security you use, a hacker will get in if they ant to..One of the issues we had was with a arcade site, where most use an FTP (File Transfer Protocol) tp upload games, they are like a backdoor for hackers. I was a head of the security group on that server to hunt down and look for hackers as there are numerous ways to know if a board is being attacked before it is accomplished.

There is a difference between Hacking and Cracking someone Big difference.
Cracking, hmm, that sounds familiar. But I have to admit that I am ignorant of it. Hacking is more common because it is one word that almost everyone knows. I have posted this thread because of my curiosity and I also want to be safe from hackers, of course. And this cracking, my guess is that it's about the password. Am I correct on this? And how do a cracker do his thing?
