A hackintosh is a non-Apple computer running Mac OSX. You will also hear it called OSx86. Technically, you are breaking Apple EULA since you are not allowed to run OSX on non-Apple hardware.

I have used Mac OSX in a virtual machine on my windows system before but I have never booted it on a non-apple computer. I didn't know you could 😛
