I just opened up a new web forum that I am hoping takes off. It is fairly niche and has no direct competition so I am banking on that and reading as much as I can to build a successful community. Its no easy task! A lot of good information here and another website, CommunitySpark. Right now I am working toward getting the forum reviewed here and look forward to what folks have to say about it.
