Do you think it makes a negative difference? Anyway, who have you have simply been with bad people or been in a bad area, only to be corrupted by it?

Now, money, of course, will make things a lot worse - especially in a bad area. I mean, all the naughtiness has to be paid for!

OK, sorry for this to be a Jehovah's Witness thread, but this is interesting.

Bad crowd, I rather stay away or if not tend to go over my mind.

It can make a difference, depending on the situation you're in. If you have a lot going on in your life already, and you try to befriend them just because you're lonely, you might get influenced.

One person I knew had her whole life ahead of her, only then to find herself mixing with the wrong people and ended up getting into drugs. She had cleaned up since but her mind's not the same.

That seems to be the downfall of most. I mean, people get hung up on education and whatnot when it comes to life survival - but hanging with bad crowds is the #1 problem.

I don't think this always has to relate to crime or behaviour either. Even hanging with an unsupportive group or a toxic person can be detrimental to your mental health. I believe it can influence the decisions that you make, such as things that you do or don't do, as well as impact your self-esteem.

Regardless of how religious I feel at the time, I would be very harsh on who my kids hang with - mainly cause my own family (not speaking of my kids) is plagued with tragedy.

However, though, I feel that kids must highly respect the father/mother before they can implement this. In my own family, there was the "drinking.un-connecting dad" problem.

The type of people you hang around or live with goes a long way in determining your way of life. Bad people has nothing to offer than bad. We should as much as possible stay away from people that have negative or bad influence in our lives.

I "was" falling into a bad crowd back in high school. There were these kids offering me marijuana and alcohol and I really felt that they were people I needed to quit hanging around. I knew I didn't want to get into drugs or start drinking. So I distanced myself from them.

Even small influences can get through to the best of them when in a bad crowd and they might not even realize it.
